BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Breeding conditions:

Snowy Owls nested in the area. Four checked nests contained 4-5 egg clutches. Rough-legged Buzzards, Long-tailed and Pomarine Skuas nested as well. An active Arctic Fox den was found near Ust-Oleneuk settlement, adult animals were seen as well.
Wader breeding density was high. No nest depredation was noted.
 

Rodent dynamics:

Near Ust-Oleneuk settlement and on the islands in the Olenyok delta high numbers of Collared and in some places Siberian Lemmings were recorded.
